Obituary of Ruth Gotliffe
Mrs. Ruth (Koch) Gotliffe, 89, of Mt. Olive Twp., NJ passed away on Friday October 20, 2017. Ruth was born on December 31, 1927 in Union City, NJ to the late Edward and Helen Koch. She resided in Bergen County for over 40 years before retiring to South Carolina. In her earlier years Ruth was a model and talented ballet dancer, who danced with the New York City ballet and studied under George Balanchine. She was a part of the Radio City Music Hall Corps de Ballet. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was a devoted housewife and mother, master gardener and collector of American Brilliant Cut Glass.
She is survived by her three children, Edward Gotliffe and wife Ginger, Alan Gotliffe and wife Cathy, Nancy Von Eilbergh and husband Otto; seven grandchildren, Geoffrey, Bryan, Blake, Dana, Casey, Andrew, and Otto. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 64 years Stanley H. Gotliffe in 2010.
A Celebration of Ruth's Life will include a visitation on Monday October 23, 2017 from 5pm to 8pm at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 10:30am funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday October 24, 2017 at St. Jude Parish in Budd Lake, NJ. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ.
