Obituary of Vito Cifrese
Vito Rocco Cifrese, 87, passed away on March 29, 2018 in Freehold, NJ. Vito was born on October 20, 1930 in Morristown, NJ to the late Dominick Cifrese and Filomena (Dimichino) Cifrese. He lived in Randolph, NJ and Morris Plains, NJ for many years before moving to Chester, NJ 8 years ago. Vito proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War and was a member of the Whippany VFW. He worked for Ciba Geigy in Summit, NJ for 25 years as a chemical operator before retiring. Vito loved to dance, fish, and meet his best friends for coffee every morning at the Dunkin Donuts in Morris Plains.
He is survived by two devoted children, Dana Meininger and husband Brad, MichaelCifrese and wife Jodi; three stepchildren, Bob Amann and wife Amanda, Kathy Marvinand husband Brian, Tom Amann and wife Karen; five grandchildren, Mikayla, Corey, Brianna, Zoe, and Maria; eight step grandchildren, Justin, Kate, Emily, Armando, Jason, Valerie, Danielle, and Margaret; nine step great-grandchildren; two siblings, Mary Tufano and husband Mike, and Grace Perillo. Vito was predeceased by his first wife Amelia in 1992, and by his second wife Muriel in 2010.
Vito's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday April 4, 2018 from 4PM-7PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday April 5, 2018 at 11AM at the St. Margaret of Scotland RC Church in Morristown. Interment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery in Morris Twp., NJ.
