Obituary of Gladys Thomson
Gladys J. Thomson, 70, of Flanders, NJ passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center. Gladys was born on March 17, 1948 in Englewood, NJ and grew up in Fort Lee, NJ. She has lived in Mount Olive for the past 36 years and previously lived in Parsippany, NJ. Gladys was a retired Nurse and Floor Secretary for Morristown Memorial Hospital. After retirement, she was a crossing guard for Mount Olive Township.
Gladys was a member of the Church of the Messiah in Chester, NJ. She was active in fundraising for the NJ Rhett Syndrome Association. Gladys enjoyed trips to the beach with her husband.
Gladys is survived by her husband of 44 years, Douglas Thomson, her sisters, Mary Holst, Patricia Refanello, Roseann Deluca and Kathleen Spoerl, and many loving niece, nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by her son, James A. Thomson, her daughter, Kerri Ann Reilly Thomson, and her siblings, John Reilly, Robert Reilly, and Joanne Daus.
A Celebration of Gladys' Life will include a memorial gathering from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A 4pm memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at Church of the Messiah in Chester, NJ. The final interment will be held privately by the family.
