Obituary of Eugene W. Galan

Eugene W. Galan, 79, of Succasunna, NJ passed away on Thursday May 16, 2019 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ. Eugene was born on December 12, 1939 in Jamaica, Queens, NY to the late Walter and Helen Galan. He lived in Landing, NJ for 13 years before moving to Succasunna 35 years ago. He served in the US Army as a Military Policeman from 1963-1965 and later earned a Master's Degree in Engineering. Eugene worked for Lucent (formerly Bell Labs) as an Electrical Engineer for many years before retiring. He was an active Parishioner at St. Therese RC Parish in Succasunna, and 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6320. He enjoyed reading, hiking, and traveling.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Anita (perinetti) Galan; five devoted children, Michelle Toscano and her husband James, Craig Galan and his wife Cheryl, Jeffrey Galan and his fiancé Teri Hammond, Scott Galan, and Christine McCabe and her husband Cy; seven cherished grandchildren, Dominick Toscano, Angelo Toscano, Ethan Galan, Amanda Galan, Emily Galan, Saige Galan, and Grady McCabe; and by his loving sister, Toni McPartland.

Eugene's Life Celebration will include a visitation on Monday May 20, 2019 from 4PM – 8PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206) Chester, NJ 07930. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday May 21, 2019 at 10AM at St. Therese RC Parish in Succasunna. Interment will follow at Good Shepherd RC Cemetery in Andover, NJ.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice, 99 Sparta Avenue, Newton, NJ 07860.
