Obituary of Marian W. Depczynski

Marian W. Depczynski, age 89 passed away peacefully in his home in Towaco on Wednesday, May 22nd. Born in Poznan, Poland, he emigrated to Chicago, IL in 1948 where he worked as a silver smith until serving in the U.S. Army. After serving, he became a resident of Wallington, NJ until marrying Bogumiła “Maria” née Szura, in 1956. After marriage they started a family in Maywood, NJ and eventually moved to Towaco in 1969 where he started his own business. He retired from his company, MD Carbide Tool Co. in 1991 after being dedicated to his craft for over 40 years.

Marian enjoyed vacationing in Florida, watching professional soccer, the outdoors with his loyal dog Daisy and spending time with his family.

Marian is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Bogumiła “Maria”, his cherished daughters and son in laws: Wanda Crump (Thomas), and Theresa Tausendfreund (Robert) his beloved grandchildren and their spouses: Michael Crump (Deanna), Nicklaus Crump (Grace), Lauren Wintzer née Crump (Marcus), Jennifer Begley née Tausendfreund (Daniel), Lisa Tausendfreund (Joshua Herman), and Robert Tausendfreund (Nicole), and his sweet great-grandchildren: Gideon Wintzer, Evelyn Begley, and Greta Crump, his elder brother Bogdan and wife Zosia Depczynski, his two endeared sister-in-laws, Alice Poplawski and Diane Gianattasio, and his two dear brother-in-laws and their spouses, Richard Szura (Karen), John Szura (Blanche) and many beloved nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Church on Tuesday, May 28th at 10am, followed immediately by the burial service at Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sparta, NJ.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in his name to: St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital, Atlantic Hospice, 465 South Street, Suite 100B, Morristown, NJ 07960 or the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
