Obituary of Thomas Joseph Comer
Thomas Joseph Comer, Jr., 69, of Flanders, NJ passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at St. Clare's Hospital in Dover, NJ. Thomas was born on December 25, 1949 in Newark, NJ. He has lived in Flanders for the past 5 years and previously lived in Roxbury Township, NJ. Thomas received his Bachelors Degree from Seton Hall University.
Thomas had a great sense of humor which helped him to be a successful salesman. Thomas enjoyed baseball and coached Mine Hill and Roxbury Little League. He was a member of the Mine Hill School Board. Some of Thomas' hobbies included reading books about history and listening to Doo-wop music. Most importantly, Thomas was a supportive father and grandfather.
Thomas is survived by his children, Michael Comer and wife Stephanie of Byram, Erin Comer-Wohlberg and husband John of Hawthorne, Marybeth Comer of Ledgewood, Timothy Comer of Flanders, and Steven Comer of Budd Lake, his mother, Mary Comer, his grandsons, Henry and Wyatt Comer and Charlie and Truman Wohlberg, and 3 siblings, Veronica Serio, Christopher Comer and Kenneth Comer. He was predeceased by his father, Thomas Joseph Comer, Sr.
A Celebration of Thomas' Life will include a memorial gathering from 2pm to 5pm followed by a 5pm memorial service on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. Interment will be held privately by the family.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
