Obituary of Mary Edwards
Mary (Suler) Edwards, 58, of Wilmington, NC passed away peacefully on October 18, 2019 after a courageous battle with cancer with her husband by her side. Mary was born on July 7, 1961 in Montclair, NJ. She graduated from Butler High School in 1979. She lived in Mt. Arlington, NJ for 22 years before moving to Wilmington, NC 4 years ago. She worked for Smith Industries, Borough of Mt. Arlington, Chester Twp., and most recently as an executive assistant for American Airlines at Wilmington Airport in North Carolina. Mary was a very active and health conscious person. She loved exercising, eating well, and taking her beloved dog Shelby for long walks at various parks. She enjoyed spending time at the beach and going for rides in her Corvette. Mary was a member of the Friends of Fort Fisher, and very involved in all the communities she served. She will be remembered most for her kind spirit, and a smile that could light up any room.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 26 years, John Edwards; his daughter, Jennifer Edwards; three grandchildren, Derek, Alex, and Jace; mother, Bernadette Suler; brother, George Suler and wife Patty; Sisters, Lorene Gallahue and husband Robert, and Sharon Calafiore and husband Sammy; nieces and nephews, Katelyn, Toni, Brian, and Joshua Anthony; and by many other loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her father, Anthony Suler; and by her niece and goddaughter, Samantha Lorene Calafiore.
Mary’s Life Celebration will include a visitation on Wednesday October 23, 2019 from 4PM to 8PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home (908) 879-3090 15 Furnace Road (corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ 07930. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday October 24, 2019 at 10AM at St. Therese RC Church in Succasunna, NJ. Interment will be handled privately by Mary’s Family.
