Obituary of Marjorie Ruth McCormack

Marjorie Ruth McCormack, 89, of Roxbury, NJ passed away peacefully on March 21, 2020 with her family by her side. “Margie” was born on May 2, 1930 in Jersey City, NJ to the late William and Frances Rohrer. She and her late husband, Jimmy McCormack, lived in North Bergen, NJ before moving to Lower Berkshire Valley, in Roxbury Township, 52 years ago. There they raised their children, Nancy and Susan, as well as owning their own business, the Valley Print Shop in Wharton. Margie enjoyed gardening, fishing, bicycling and going to the beach. She volunteered her time at Meals on Wheels, as an Al-Anon sponsor, Girl Scout leader, room mother, as well as wound healer, heart mender, and all-round superhero to her loving daughters. Margie and was affectionately known as “Mom” to many of her daughter’s friends, because if you came to her home, you were treated you like one of her own. Of all the joy she brought to those around her, her greatest joy was having 3 adoring grandchildren to love her. Connor, Madison and Jake were her true loves, who she would fondly tell, “I love you all the way to the moon and back”. Margie is survived by her two devoted daughters, Nancy Boehm and Susan DePalma, and their respective husbands whom she loved like sons, Rich Boehm and Don DePalma; three cherished grandchildren, Connor, Madison, and Jake; loving sister, Ethel Madden; and by many other loving family members and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, James McCormack; parents William and Frances Rohrer; and brother-in-law, William “Bill” Madden. In accordance with State Regulations at this time, Margie’s Life Celebration and Services will be handled privately.
