Obituary of David Osmun

David J. Osmun, 62, of Tewksbury, NJ passed away unexpectedly on January 31, 2021 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Twp., NJ. David was born on June 16, 1958 in Morristown, NJ to the late Frank Osmun and Dorothy (Greene) Osmun. He was born and raised in Flemington, NJ. He was a resident of Tewksbury, NJ with his wife Susy for the past fifteen years. Dave was a 1977 graduate of Hunterdon Central High School, where he was a standout wrestler and captain of the football team. He was one of the last Central athletes to earn 11 varsity letters for the Red Devils. He went on to attend and wrestle for the University of Arizona and graduated in 1982. He spent several years in restaurant management in Arizona, California and Kentucky before returning home to New Jersey to work for Rutgers Dining Services. It would be hard to find a stronger work ethic than Dave’s. He never missed a day of work and recently retired after twenty years from Rutgers University where he was the General Manager of Dining Services at his beloved Livingston Dining Commons. Dave and Susy were looking forward to many years of traveling to new places, as that was one of their favorite adventures.

He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Susan (Jordan) Osmun; daughter, Dakota Osmun by a previous marriage; mother, Dorothy Osmun; stepson, Arrio “Rio” Lusquinos and his wife Magritte; his fur babies Ferdinand and Marmalade; and by many other loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Frank Osmun; and by his brother Michael Osmun.

David’s Life Celebration will include a funeral mass at St. Luke’s Parish in Long Valley on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held later in the year.

St. Luke Parish is following Covid-19 protocols and is compliant with all regulations.
