Obituary of Herman A. Rademacher

Herman A. Rademacher, Jr., 90, of Chester, NJ passed away on April 27, 2021. Herman was born on March 13, 1931 in Chester, NJ, where he spent his whole life. Herman was the owner of H.A. Rademacher Plumbing and Heating, a family business started in 1863. He was extremely knowledgeable of the history of Chester and was a supporter of the Chester Library. He was a long-time member of the Chester Fire Department.

Herman married the love of his life on November 11, 1951, Shirley (nee Hildebrant), who preceded him in death just 23 days prior. His greatest joy in life was spending time with Shirley and doing activities together. They were a staple of the Chester community and could always be found together. Over the years they raced cars in Pocono Speedway, enjoyed antiquing, and rode in hot air balloons.

Herman is survived by his children, John S., Gregory D. and wife Cynthia, and David S. and wife Ann, his grandchildren, Amy, Katherine, John Jr., Elizabeth, Michael and Emily, his great grandchildren, Calla, Iris, Connor, and Colton, and his sister, Carol Neighbour. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley, and his siblings, Ruth, Dorothy, Mary, Walter, and Jessie.

A Life Celebration for both Herman and Shirley will include a memorial gathering from 9am to 11am on Saturday, May 8 at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. An 11:30am graveside service will follow the gathering at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Chester Library, ATTN: Leslie Karczewski, 250 West Main Street, Chester, NJ 07930.
