Obituary of Wilbur F. Radtke

Wilbur F. Radtke, age 86, of Chester passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Heath Village in Hackettstown, NJ. He was born and grew up on Radtke Road in Randolph and has been living in Chester for the past 46 years. Mr. Radtke was as Real Estate Broker for Weichert Realtors in Chester. Prior to that, he was Broker-Owner of Radtke Associate Realtors from 1974-1988, Past President of the Morris County Board of Realtors, President- Operator of Horseshoe Restaurant and Coffee Shoppe in Roxbury Twp. and owner-operator of Shongum Farms in Randolph. He served in the Army National Guard during World War II. Mr. Radtke received the Realtor Ameritas Award from the National Association of Realtors for 50 years of service. He was member of the National Association of Realtors, North Centeral Jersey Board of Realtors, and NJ Association of Realtors. Mr. Radtke was also a Councilman for Chester Borough for 2 terms and a 2 term member of the Chester Borough Board of Adjustments. He was also a counselor/coordinator wth American Legion Jersey Boys for 20 Years. His hobbies included gardening and traveling with his wife.He is survived by his wife: Janet (Wilkinson) Radtke of Chester and sister-in-law: Rhoda Radtke of Mendham. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his sisters: Helen Farring and Elizabeth Smith and a brother: Ed Radtke.There will be a Memorial Gathering on Saturday, May 30 from 10:00am-11:00am at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Rd., Chester. A Memorial service will follow at 11:00am at the funeral home.
